Frequently asked questions
What is a mutual fund NAV?
NAV (net asset value) is the per-unit value of a mutual fund scheme: the market value of its holdings minus expenses, divided by units outstanding. You buy and redeem units at the NAV of the day your order is processed.
When is mutual fund NAV updated?
Fund houses publish NAVs to AMFI once every business day after market close, usually by 11 pm. This page uses the AMFI NAV file and refreshes several times a day.
How are returns calculated here?
1-year returns are point-to-point changes in NAV. 3-year returns are annualised (CAGR). Returns for Growth options include reinvested gains; IDCW options pay out part of the gains, so their NAV returns look lower.
Should I choose a Direct or Regular plan?
Direct plans have no distributor commission, so their expense ratio is lower and long-term returns are higher than the Regular plan of the same scheme. Regular plans suit investors who want advice from a distributor.
